It what was one of the shock results of the North One
season so far, Chester took a deserved victory over
the previously unbeaten Powergen North One leaders Morley.
A strong display throughout the game gave Chester to
much needed two points.

On Sunday 4th December Cheshire A Under 16s completed
their fixtures against the other North sides with a
15 - 12 win against Northumberland, this followed wins
against Lancashire and Cumbria and narrow defeats against
Yorkshire and Durham.
Chester
U16s are well represented in the county at this age
group providing 8 players to the squad of which James
Purdy, Fred Silcock and James Myerscough played for
Cheshire B and Mike Craven, Jack Bromley, Ben Morris,
Robert Fitzgerald and Gareth Bell played for Cheshire
A. Of these, Mike Craven and Jack Bromley have now progressed
through to the North Trials.

Through To Cheshire Cup Final

Chester 1st XV have made it throuh to the final of the
Thwaites Cheshire Cup following an excellent display
against fellow North One club Altrincham Kersal.
Three
terrific tries in first 20 mins saw chester take 17
point lead, and a 20-0
lead at half time. A spirited responce from ak in second
half wasn't enough and saw final score 29-0.
The
Final will be played on April 15th against Macclesfield
or Winnington Park.

Floodlights
Officially Switched On

The
new floodlights at Chester made their debut on Tuesday
evening.
The
first match played under the new lights was the Thwaites
Cheshire Cup 1/4 final between Macclesfield & Birkenhead
Park.
A
weakend Park side put up a brave performance, but were
no match for the speed & power of a strong and well
organised Macclesfield side, who ran out winners 41-0

Buy
a Brick - Club Development Fund

A development fund to improve the facilities at Chester
Rugby Club was launched over a year ago and since then
the car park has been repaired and with the help of
the RFU lights have been installed on the main pitch.
Funds are being raised to extend the changing rooms.Thanks
are due to the club members, parents and sponsors have
contributed to the 'Buy a Brick' appeal their names
have been recorded in the clubhouse. So far £21,500
has been collected but this is still some way from the
target of £90,0000 which is needed to add the
six extra changing rooms needed on Saturday and Sundays.
