Tim Doig
Tim was born in Colwyn Bay, North Wales, at some point in the 1960’s, though very reluctant to discuss his actual age. From a footballing family, he soon came to realise that his two left feet were going to be a big disadvantage in this area, so turned his attention to rugby. After more than 10 years with Colwyn Bay RUFC, he moved to Wrexham before finally settling at Chester RUFC in 1992. Here, during his first training session he ran into ‘Sutti’ (literally!) and a friendship was born.
Having tried to retire from 1st XV rugby in 2001, Tim has found his ‘friend’ volunteering his services for various sides ever since. This has included positions ranging from his usual front row role, to winger (definitely needs to be seen to be believed!)
Describing himself as ‘Young(ish), free and single’ Tim can often be seen in the late night hotspots of Chester, mainly at the bar as his two left feet still get in the way!
