Interested in playing for the Romans?

The Romans consist of two teams: Youth (aged 14-18) and Senior (aged 18+).

Joining the Romans Senior Team

Players can join the team at any time during the year, however to play during the current season you need to be registered with the team and the league by the 31st of July.

If you miss this deadline you are welcome to join us at our annual Rookie Day held in October/November. This day allows new players to learn the basics of the American Football and have a go at training in different positions. You will be able to meet the current players and get a feel for the team, ready for pre-season training which begins in January.

We welcome players of any size, shape and ability. All we require from you is enthusiasm and commitment.

Training

To join, you will be required to attend regular training sessions. These are held on Sundays at Chester Rugby Club.

Games

Games are held between May and September. We play 10 games a season, 5 at home and 5 away.

Cost

The cost of playing can be very high, however the Romans try to keep this cost as low as possible. When you decide to join you will be asked to pay a fee which covers the cost of training and playing for the whole year. Payment plans can be worked out to suit you.

You are not expected to buy your own kit as the club can lend you some, but you may wish to purchase your own in your own time. The club can assist you if you decide to do this.
